About Hurt Park
Hurt Park Elementary School is one of 17 elementary schools in Roanoke City School District. Hurt Park is located in Southwest Roanoke and is named for Mr. Welford Hurt, the first African American soldier from Roanoke to die for his country during World War II. Hurt Park is home to the Huskies and is led by Principal Danielle Allen and Assistant Principals Krista Cox and Quiana Fields.
